Annual Outing to the Honey Store

4/3/2012

There will be no meeting at the Elks Club for the month of April.

Instead, we will be meeting at the Honey Store or our 2012 Season Opener!

Location:  The Honey Store
                  2330 Hwy 30 West
                  Fruitland, Idaho 83619
                  208-452-7035

Carpool – Please make every effort possible to car pool with someone from the club.  Parking is VERY limited at the Honey Store.  When you do park, make sure you don’t take up extra spaces.  Make room for others please.

Directions from Boise: (Map Attached) Take Interstate 84 West to Hwy.  95 Exit.  Turn Right on Hwy. 95 and then make another immediate Right on Hwy 30.   The Honey Store is approx. ¾ of a mile down Hwy. 30 on the Left (North) side of the road.

Arrival Time: 10:00 a.m. and the event should last until Noon .

What to bring: Those attending the event are advised to wear a veil and appropriate clothing for visiting a bee yard, i.e., long pants, a long sleeve shirt (khaki, whites and pastels are best) or a bee suit.  Bee gloves are optional, as is duck tape or rubber bands to seal pant legs and shirt sleeves.  A note of warning, avoid red duck tape as this color tends to aggravate the field bees.  Also, bring a lawn chair and something to drink, that is, if you want something other than water.  The Honey Store is accepting Visa, Master Card, Discover, Cash and Check.  If you want to bring a camera, you should get some great pictures.

What to expect when you arrive:  The meeting will start around 10:20-10:30 a.m.
