Workshops

Honey products, mead making, wax products and botanicals
Irene and Jacob Westrick are hosting our first series of workshops in=February 2025.

Honey Products
Saturday, February 1
9am - noon
Irene and Jacob Westrick

We sampled, discussed making and took home a variety of honey products at this hands-on workshop, including:
  • Creamed honey - flavored with orange zest, cinnamon and rosemary/thyme
  • Whipped honey butter - flavored with rosemary and thyme
  • Honey comb - presented in beautiful Ross Rounds, served with hard white cheese and crackers.
  • Fermented honey infusions with elderberry, cranberry and garlic
  • Medicinal herbal shrubs
  • Lemon balm and honey lemonaide
  • Russian honey cake
  • Goat milk soap with honey and essential oils
The class of 11 learned more ways to use our honey.  New or aspiring beekeepers saw they could use their main hive product, honey, for super yummy goodies.
Look at how much fun we had...

Garrett Hanna, an experience mead maker and experimenter led us through a simple, three ingredient mead recipe consisting of water, honey and yeast. For a gallon of mead. Attendees brought a one-gallon glass container or carboy with a vapor lock, mixed up their own mead and got it bubbling. Check out some photos of the fun.
